MAX Out the Army Navy Marine and Air Force Physical Fitness and Combat Fitness Tests Lee Kind Matthew Tirre 9780978575335 Books Reviews
Very good book for those looking to improve their PT test. The routines are set up nice and are fairly quick to perform. The only downside to the book is a lack of clarification on things such as the difference the author uses for sets and exercises. Other than that, it's a good book for military fitness.
It gives a couple tips that are great for a pt test. A lot of it was common sense to me though. Being currently in the army I can say it helps if you're newer to pt tests. Its nice in the way that it can help any person trying to get in good shape.
What a waste of money, nothing you can't find online about basic programs for improving pt score
Great fitness tips even if you are not in the military, the book also contains a great gear section, recommendations for many products proven in the field
I didn't find this little gem soon enough for my current PT test to say it will help me max it but in a short period of time it helped make the test less stressful. The running tips he recommended increased my speed very quickly. I'm a marathon runner who struggles at short distances and my PT test, as a threshold sprint, is not always easy for me. His running program had me shaving minutes off my mile time in short order and I actually enjoy running a brisk 2-3 miles now whereas I used to only enjoy runs of 10+ miles. This book is defiantly full of useful tips for fitness improvement whether you are in the military or not.
A must read if you want a 300 APFT and get your points straight for your next look in the promotion system. Also this books works great with all services is not only ARMY it have his chapters for USMC, USAF and NAVY
Reminds me of the old Ranger Rick booklets my Ranger buddies and I would buy from the PX to get insider tips on fieldcraft and unofficial secrets of patrolling and survival. Not really evidence-based, as he's not an expert per se. Rather, it's just one guy's personal take on military fitness. YMMV.
